Alice’s adventures continue with the Missouri Contemporary Ballet

Case Study Graphic Design

For the third time, Missouri Contemporary Ballet is performing “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” this summer, capturing Lewis Carroll’s imaginative tale of a young girl on an adventure down the rabbit hole.

For this production, just as before, Hub & Spoke is providing multiple creative assets to the Ballet company, including the print design of its colorful posters and motion backdrops for use in the show itself.

For the posters, we’ve updated our original design, which depicts four unique scenes from “Wonderland.” Our Creative Director, Dak Dillon, photographed each dance member for the posters, with original illustrations wrapping around the characters.

During the show, three scenes feature our motion backgrounds, including the main opening sequence and shrinking door scene.

“Hub & Spoke brought our production of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ together. Not only did they design four unique posters for the production, but they also put together our program and created four separate scenes of projection animation that were essential to our show,” said Karen Mareck Grundy, Artistic/Executive Director of the Missouri Contemporary Ballet. “Their creativity, flexibility, and high-quality work makes them an invaluable partner.”

Hub & Spoke has always cared deeply about helping the arts, working within our local community and beyond on unique initiatives, such as with the Ballet. This year marks our fifth year helping the dance company, providing marketing and design services in addition to website design and hosting.
